Trina shares her story as to how Let Your Light Shine Counselling began. When my brother died in November of 2006, I was completing my Masters in Educational Psychology. Shortly after he died I had the vision that I would support others through their grief. To this day, almost 14 years later in which I am still grieving his death. My heart was changed forever. During the months after he died and the years went by, I was faced with other difficult obstacles in my life. In 2013, I miscarried baby #3 and in August of 2016 I had a “mental breakdown” where I was dealing with severe anxiety and depression.

Everyone has a story to tell. No one's story is any better/worse than someone else. Let Your Light Shine Counselling was created to help others acknowledge that it is okay to not be okay. Asking for help to have their light shine a little brighter shows the strength within themselves. We live in such a scheduled, busy, chaotic life in where we tend forget to take care of ourselves. We need to Love ourselves, tell ourselves we are enough in order to be present for the rest of our loved ones and for ourselves in the life you are living.
